For any adventurous souls wanting to weave between contrasting landscapes, through nature reserves, towns, parks, mountains and museums, The Canberra Centenary Trail may be the answer.

Trail Overview

As Sydney based cyclists, our first thoughts and expectations while researching The Canberra Centenary Trail leaned heavily towards manicured bike paths and champagne gravel. What we discovered was a diverse mix of terrains that seemed to favour the use of a hardtail mountain bike, or a gravel bike with an aggressive dirty flair.

The trail is well signposted for a majority of the ride. Our experience in early 2023 was that some parts toward the southern end were a little more ambiguous.

The weather during our ride was everything but hail! Hot dry days, pouring rain, and everything in between.
